Women's Volleyball Goes 1-1 at Wellesley Quad

CAMBRIDGE, MASS. - MIT went 1-1 this past Saturday at Wellesley College's quad-match, defeating Bridgewater State College, 25-30, 30-22, 30-25, 30-23, before falling to Nazareth College in five games (31-29, 27-30, 30-24, 27-30, 15-12). The Engineers now stand at 18-6 on the year.
Against Bridgewater State, Caroline Jordan paced Tech's offense with 16 kills and added 10 digs. Carrie Buchanan totaled a team-high 15 digs and four aces while Joy Hart had 10 kills. Arlis Reynolds tallied 13 kills and five aces. Lisa Rossi and Amanda Morris each notched three aces while Morris dished out 49 assists.
Jordan had a solid showing in MIT's loss to Nazareth College, tallying 15 kills, two aces, 22 digs, one solo block and four assisted blocks. Frances Rogoz had 11 kills as Arlis Reynolds totaled 12 digs. Buchanan posted a career-high 23 digs while Joy Hart contributed 16. Alexandra Huston-Carico registered 10 digs, two solo blocks and three assisted blocks while Morris totaled 48 assists.
The next match for MIT will be on Tuesday, Oct. 19 at 7:00 p.m. when it hosts NEWMAC foe Springfield College.
