MIT Falls to Springfield in NEWMAC Semifinal

CAMBRIDGE, Mass. - No. 3 seed Springfield College defeated No. 2 MIT, 30-27, 21-30, 24-30, 30-26, 15-13, in a New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) Women's Volleyball Tournament semifinal on Friday night. In the loss, Carrie Buchanan tied the Institute record for digs in a match with 38.
Alex May posted a career-high 21 kills and 25 digs to go along with four blocks and two aces. Katie Rowe and Frances Rogoz both contributed 14 kills with Rowe tallying six blocks and Rogoz adding four. Briana Stephenson notched a team-high seven blocks as Amanda Morris recorded 52 assists, 19 digs, five blocks, and two aces. Lindsay Hunting totaled 16 digs and three aces while Rose Zhong finished with 12 digs.
