Volleyball Falls in NEWMAC Semifinals

CAMBRIDGE, MASS. - MIT's run in the 2004 NEWMAC Women's Volleyball Championship Tournament came to an end in the semifinal round on Friday when it fell to Springfield College, 32-30, 30-22, 30-17, in a rematch of last season's title game. Despite the loss, the Engineers' (24-10) post-season will continue with a bid to the ECAC New England Championship Tournament to be held at the U.S. Coast Guard Academy on Friday, Nov. 13 and Saturday, Nov. 14.
Arlis Reynolds paced Tech's attack with 12 kills and added 10 digs. Caroline Jordan posted 11 kills, a team-high three aces, nine digs, and two assisted blocks. Frances Rogoz registered seven kills and three assisted blocks while Joy Hart and Carrie Buchanan combined for 17 digs. Austin Zimmerman dished out 34 assists and contributed six digs.
