Women’s Cross Country Captures Engineer’s Cup

BOSTON, Mass. – Katherine Eve raced away from the rest of the field, winning by over a minute, as MIT cruised victory at the annual Engineer's Cup meet against RPI and WPI at Franklin Park on Saturday afternoon. Eve completed the five-kilometer course in 18:39 to lead MIT to a sweep of six of the top seven spots, for a total of 18 points. RPI was second with 57 points ahead of WPI, which finished with 63.

Katy Gordon followed Eve in second place with a time of 19:41. After WPI's Vicky Hewey crossed in third, the next four runners all belonged to the Cardinal and Gray. Lauren Allen took fourth in 20:02. She was followed by Sarah Sprague (20:13), Chandler Burfield (20:26) and Maggie Lloyd (20:36).

Tech will be back in action next weekend at the UMass-Dartmouth Invitational on Saturday, September 18 beginning at 12:00 p.m.
