Cambridge, Mass. (April 30) -- Rob Watts has been named the MIT director of sport performance, as announced by Julie Soriero, director of athletics and DAPER department head. Watts had previously served as the assistant coordinator of sport performance prior to his promotion.

Watts is in his fourth year at MIT in 2018-19, working with each of the MIT varsity athletic teams in the area of strength and conditioning. Prior to his time at MIT, Watts worked as a sports performance coach at Velocity Sports Performance in Norwood, Mass. and also served as a strength and conditioning intern at Harvard University.
"I am thankful and excited for the opportunity to lead the program," said Watts. "I'm looking forward to helping Sport Performance continue to grow and make an everyday impact on the student athletes here."
