CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – After winning all but one point this weekend against non-conference Vassar College and New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) rival Springfield College, the MIT men's tennis team swept the conference's weekly awards.

Senior Dennis Garcia (Corpus Christi, Texas) was named the NEWMAC Men's Tennis Singles Player of the Week, while freshman Alex Cauneac (Severna Park, Md.) and sophomore Bryan Lilley (Edmond, Okla.) teamed up for NEWMAC Doubles Team of the Week accolades.

Against the Pride, Garcia didn't let up a single set as he won 6-0, 6-0 over Kyle Beynor at the No. 4 position, while on Friday against Vassar, Garcia claimed his first victory of the season from the No. 3 position 6-1, 6-4 against Juan Felipe Laso.

Cauneac and Lilley went undefeated in a 2-0 week for the MIT men's tennis team. The duo started the weekend with an 8-5 win over Juan Felipe Laso and Alexander Luckmann from Vassar College at the No. 2 position. Cauneac and Lilley then helped MIT open NEWMAC play with an 8-3 victory over Tanner DeVarennes and Justin Danielewicz from Springfield College at the No. 1 slot.
