Junior Edenna Chen had a remarkable debut at the 2022 NCAA Division III Swimming & Diving Championships last week, earning four All-America Honors (200 Medley Relay, 400 Medley Relay, 100 Breast, 400 Free Relay) and three Honorable Mention All-America Honors (200 IM, 200 Free Relay, 200 Breast), including a NCAA Championship Title in the 100 Breaststroke. Chen contributed to school records on the 200 Medley Relay, 200 Free Relay, 400 Medley Relay, and the 100 Breaststroke, and her winning time and school record in the 100 Breast was just .02 off the NCAA record. MIT’s finish in the 200 Medley Relay was the highest finish ever for a relay at the NCAA Championships in program history, and her win in the 100 Breast makes her the first MIT swimmer to win an individual title since Yvonne Grierson won the 100 Butterfly at the 1990 NCAA Championships.
