At the NEWMAC Championship, Howarth captured the 400-meter title in a time of 57.61 seconds to lead an MIT sweep of the top four spots. She then anchored the victorious 4x400 relay team as they ran a time of 3:55.67 to win the event by nearly nine seconds.
