In a 7-1 week for the No. 20 nationally ranked softball team, sophomore Jasmin Joseph batted .529 (18-for-34) from the leadoff spot to go along with 10 RBI, 11 runs, five doubles, one triple and three stolen bases. Now with 48 hits this season (through 30 games), Joseph broke the MIT record for most hits in a single year, which was set last year by classmate Amanda Lee (47). Joseph also helped the Engineers remain perfect (14-0) in NEWMAC contests with sweeps of Coast Guard and Wheaton - the first time which the Engineers took two straight from the Lyons since the 1984 season.
