In a pair of appearances last week, Ben Burke finished the week 1-0 with 18 strikeouts and just one walk over 10.2 innings pitched. Highlighting Burke’s week was a career-high 13-strikeout performance in relief in a home win over WPI. In the victory, MIT trailed WPI by a 10-run margin before Burke held the visitors to just one run over the final five innings to allow MIT to complete the comeback. Burke then took the ball for the start in game one of a doubleheader at Emerson on Saturday, earning the win as the victory clinched a home playoff game for the Engineers in the NEWMAC Tournament.
