At the Purple Valley Classic, Sanderson was the top NEWMAC finisher and led the No. 3 ranked Engineers to the team championship as she finished second overall in a time of 22:32.8 over the six-kilometer course. Sanderson ran a pace of 6:03 per mile as the No. 3 Engineers defeated No. 16 Williams by a 14-point margin and finished first out of seven teams.
