Reed Tubbs had a big week for the MIT baseball team, hitting .533 while racking up eight hits in 15 at bats as the Engineers finished with a 2-2 record that included a pair of NEWMAC wins. Tubbs was 3-for-4 with three RBIs in a 7-1 win over Springfield on Tuesday. He followed that up with another a 3-for-4 performance, hitting a double and a home run in a non-conference loss to Suffolk. Tubbs also pitched a 1-2-3 ninth inning versus Suffolk. On Saturday, he hit a grand slam in a 10-3 game one win over Coast Guard before extending his hitting streak to five games with a single in a game two loss.
