Tzer Wong captured the sabre title at the New England Championship held this past weekend. A runner-up last year as a freshman, he compiled a 9-1 record in the preliminary round. Moving onto pool play, Wong won all five of his bouts before continuing to the direct elimination bracket. He posted a 15-14 victory in the Round of 8, followed by a 15-10 win in the semifinals. Wong wrapped up the day by defeating teammate Benjamin Lin, 15-14, for championship.
