At the Boston University Season Opener indoor meet, the graduate student ran the fastest time in the nation and set the MIT school record in the 5,000 meters in a time of 14:26.55, breaking the MIT school record by 3.53 seconds. As a result, Deyo finished first in his section and eighth overall.
