THE BASICS:
 
- Location: Louisville, Ky. (E.P. "Tom" Sawyer State Park)
 
- The Lead: Led by a fifth-place finish from sophomore Olivia Rosenstein (Urbana, Ill.), the No. 7 ranked MIT women's cross country team placed fifth out of 37 teams at the 2021 Live in Lou Cross Country Invitational on Saturday. In November, the course in Louisville will host the 2021 NCAA Division III National Championship.
 
HOW IT HAPPENED:
 
- In the meet that featured five other nationally-ranked teams, Rosenstein placed fifth overall with a time of 22:10.7. Senior Izzi Gengaro (Boonton Township, N.J.) was next for the Engineers in 26th place at 22:59.9, followed by junior Anna Chau (Salem, Ore.) in 42nd-place with a time of 23:30.5.
 
- Junior Einat Gavish (Newton, Mass.) was the fourth MIT runner as she finished 49th in 23:36.7 and junior Anna Haddad (Tacoma, Wash.) rounded out the scoring runners in 61st place at 23:48.7. First-year Olivia Stoner (Haddonfield, N.J.) was the final MIT finisher in 104th-place as she crossed in 24:40.8.

- MIT returns to action on Saturday, October 16th as the Engineers travel to the Connecticut College Invitational, which will take place at Harkness Park in Waterford, Conn.
