- The Lead: Behind All-American performances from senior
Izzi Gengaro (Boonton Township, N.J.) and sophomore
Olivia Rosenstein (Urbana, Ill.), the No. 14 ranked MIT women's cross country team placed 12th on Saturday afternoon at the 2021 NCAA Division III National Championship in Louisville. The All-American honor is the second for Gengaro in her career, while Rosenstein captures her first. The Engineers finished with a total of 392 points in the 32-team field.

HOW IT HAPPENED:

- Gengaro finished in 30th to lead the way for MIT as she crossed in a time of 21:40.3 over the 6K course. Rosenstein was close behind her in 38th place with a time 21:48.5. Next up for the Engineers was junior
Anna Haddad (Tacoma, Wash.) in 126th at 22:36.7, followed by junior
Anna Chau (Salem, Ore.) in 136th with a time of 22:40.1.

- The next three MIT finishers were separated by just four seconds with sophomore
Archana Mohandas (Thousand Oaks, Calif.), sophomore
Sarah Bentley (Pacific Palisades, Calif.) and junior
Einat Gavish (Newton, Mass.) in 159th, 161st and 173rd place, respectively. Mohandas posted a time of 22:50.5, along with 22:51.1 for Bentley and 22:54.5 for Gavish.
