- The Lead: At the NCAA Pre-National Meet on Saturday morning, the No. 7 ranked MIT women's cross country team finished second overall out of 36 teams with a total of 106 points. Overall, the Engineers defeated seven nationally-ranked teams in the meet.
HOW IT HAPPENED:
- Senior
Einat Gavish (Newton, Mass.) was the top finisher for MIT as she crossed in a time of 22:08.7 to lead the Engineers. Senior
Anna Haddad (Tacoma, Wash.) was next for MIT in ninth at 22:25.8, followed by junior
Gillian Roeder (Delmar, N.Y.) in 22nd place with a time of 22:40.7.
- Sophomore
Christina Crow (Mercer Island, Wash.) was the fourth MIT runner in 28th place at 22:50.4, while senior
Kirsi Rajagopal (Harrison, N.Y.) rounded out the scoring runners in 41st place and a time of 23:09.8.
- Senior
Anna Chau (Salem, Ore.) was next for the Engineers in 49th in 23:14.9 and junior
Sarah Bentley (Pacific Palisades, Calif.) was the seventh MIT finisher at 62nd and a time of 23:28.7.
- First-year
Katherine Sanderson (West Hartford, Conn.) finished 83rd at 23:49.6, followed by junior
Archana Mohandas (Thousand Oaks, Calif.) in 101st at 24:03.3 and first-year
Rujuta Sane (Chandler, Ariz.) in 125th place with a time of 24:18.4.

- MIT returns to action on Saturday, October 15th as the Engineers travel to the Connecticut College Invitational at Harkness Park in Waterford, Conn. The women's race gets underway beginning at Noon.
