- The Lead: With four runners in the top 11 finishers, the No. 6 MIT women's cross country team overpowered the field at the Connecticut College Invitational as the Engineers won the 22-team event with a total of 62 points.
HOW IT HAPPENED:
- Senior
Einat Gavish (Newton, Mass.) was again the top finisher for MIT as she placed fifth with a time of 21:45.80. Senior
Anna Haddad (Tacoma, Wash.) was next up in 10 at 22:06.90, while sophomore
Christina Crow (Mercer Island, Wash.) and junior
Gillian Roeder (Delmar, N.Y.) tied for 11th place with a time of 22:09.40. The final scoring runner for the Engineers was senior
Kirsi Rajagopal (Harrison, N.Y.) in 28th with a time of 22:30.
- Rounding out the top seven for MIT was first-year
Lexi Fernandez (Stevenson Ranch, Calif.) in 41st and junior
Archana Mohandas (Thousand Oaks, Calif.) in 44th place as they ran times of 22:51.10 and 22:55.90, respectively.

- MIT returns to action on Sunday, October 30th as the Engineers travel to Highland Park in Attleboro, Mass. for the 2022 NEWMAC Championship. MIT will be looking for its 15th straight conference title.
