- The Lead:Â Playing on back-to-back days, the MIT men's tennis team fell to Bates College, 6-3, in non-conference action on Saturday afternoon.

- The Bobcats swept the doubles and then took wins in three, one, and singles to take a 6-0 lead.

Daniel Papacica (Carmel, Calif.) won a tough three-set match in the number two position (6-3, 3-6, 10-5) and sophomore
Kailas Kahler (Pawtucket, R.I.) followed with an exciting victory of his own in the No. 5 position as he took the match 7-6, 2-6, 10-4.

Sundeep Chakladar (Redondo Beach, Calif.) wrapped up the day for MIT with a straight-set win in the sixth position.
