HOW IT HAPPENED – Game One

- The Pride struck first with an RBI double in the top of the first to take a quick 1-0 lead.

- MIT tied the game in the third on a single to right by sophomore Rylie Spiegel (Bradenton, Fla.).

- In the sixth, the Pride scored two runs to regain the lead, but once again MIT responded as a single from junior Haley Samuelsen (Houston, Texas) brought the Engineers back to within one.

- Springfield looked to extend its lead in the seventh, putting two runners on but first-year Becca O'Connor (San Antonio, Texas) kept it a one-run game.

- Sophomore Mackenzie Relihan (Naperville, Ill.) singled to right to put the tying on base for MIT, however, Gillian Kane retired the next two batters to give the Pride the 3-2 win.

INSIDE THE NUMBERS:

- Spiegel, Samuelsen and junior Jordan Sell (Schwenksville, Pa.) led MIT with two hits in the game.

- O'Connor falls to 7-3 as she pitched 4.2 innings allowing two hits, two runs (both unearned) with one walk, and two strikeouts.

HOW IT HAPPENED – Game Two

- The Engineers grabbed a 3-0 lead in the second on an RBI single from Samuelsen and a two-RBI triple from Spiegel.

- Springfield got one run back in the third on an RBI single, but Relihan scored on a wild pitch in the bottom of the frame to put MIT back up by three.

- Five unanswered runs from the Pride gave them a 6-4 and they would hold onto the lead to complete the doubleheader sweep.

INSIDE THE NUMBERS:

- First-year Mikayla Cable (Valrico, Fla.) led the Engineers with two hits in the game, and Spiegel's two RBI give her 16 on the year, good for second on the team.
