The Lead: The No. 31 MIT men's tennis team completed its Spring Break trip in Atlanta with a hard-fought 5-4 loss against No. 8 Emory on Sunday afternoon.

HOW IT HAPPENED
Â
- The Eagles held a 2-1 win after doubles play with junior
Kailas Kahler (Pawtucket, R.I.) and junior
Joseph Li (Naperville, Ill.) earning an 8-7 (7-4) victory in three doubles for the Engineers.

- MIT stepped up its game in singles action, earning wins in three of the six courts. Senior
Derek Shen (Chestnut Hill, Mass.) dropped the first set in two singles, only to rally and take the next two sets to earn the win.

- Sophomore
Ryan Xiao (Cary, N.C) and senior
Benji Grossman (Sands Point, N.Y.) won in five and six singles in straight sets with Xiao taking his match 6-6, 6-2 and Grossman winning 7-6, 7-5.

- Kahler just missed a win in one singles as he took set one, 6-2 but dropped a 4-6 decision in set two. The match came down to a third-set tiebreak which Andrew Esses won, 7-6 (10-8).
