No. 37 Men's Tennis Falls In Regional Championship to No. 2 Tufts

THE BASICS:
 
- Location: Somerville, Mass. (South Tennis Courts)
 
- Score: No. 2 Tufts - 5, No. 37 MIT - 0

- Records: MIT (16-12), Tufts (22-1)
 
- The Lead: The No. 37 MIT men's tennis team saw its season come to an end in the 2023 NCAA Division III Men's Tennis Regional Championship as the Engineers fell to No. 2 and hosts Tufts, 5-0 on Sunday afternoon.
 
HOW IT HAPPENED
 
- The Jumbos swept doubles as junior Kailas Kahler (Pawtucket, R.I.) and senior Daniel Papacica (Carmel, Calif.) fell to Vuk Vuksanovic and Derin Acaroglu 8-5 in No. 1 doubles to send the teams to singles play.
 
- Tufts won in No. 1 and No. 4 singles to win the match and advance to the NCAA Quarterfinals in Orlando, Fla.
 
- Senior Derek Shen (Chestnut Hill, Mass.) had a 4-1 lead in set two of No. 3 singles after falling 6-2 in the opening set.
