Kolli led things off with a 6-0, 6-4 win over Livingston and then first-year Katya Shepherd Johnson (Takoma Park, Md.) defeated Petty, 6-4, 6-3. Deshpande followed with a 6-4, 6-2 decision against Congeni in the No. 5 spot.
