The Lead: The No. 12 MIT men's volleyball team fell to host and No. 8 Vassar, 3-0, in the semifinals of the UVC Tournament on Saturday afternoon.
HOW IT HAPPENED

- Set 1:Â Vassar raced out to a 13-8 lead and never looked back as the host took set one by a 25-12 score. Graduate student
Nick Gustafson (San Diego, Calif.) led MIT with five kills in the set.

- Set 2:Â After a kill from junior
Grant Oh (Irvine, Calif.) cut the Vassar lead to 13-11, the Brewers scored four straight to pull ahead by six. With the Brewers leading 23-14, MIT used a 7-1 run to make it 24-21, but Vassar held on for the 25-21 win.
- Set 3:Â MIT held an early 8-4 lead, but the Brewers used an 8-4 run to pull even at 12. Vassar slowly pulled away from the Engineers. Back-to-back kills from Gustafson and Oh made it a 22-18 match, but Vassar held on for the 25-20 win. Â

INSIDE THE NUMBERS:
- Gustafson led the way with 19 kills and hit .394 in the match. He also contributed five digs. Oh finished with nine kills and six digs.

Max Turner (Chandler, Ariz.) posted 24 assists.
