Joseph Li (Naperville, Ill.) and Junior Ryan Xiao (Cary, N.C.) grabbed the first win of the match with an 8-3 victory in No. 3 doubles over Adel Aissaoui and Kyle Lundberg. First years
Shrish Choudhary (Fremont, Calif.) and Siddharth Marathe (Pune India) followed in the No. 2 position defeating Louis Bourn and Griffin Biernat, 8-5. Graduate student
Daniel Papacica (Carmel, Calif.) and first-year Grant Gallagher (Irvine, Calif.) ended doubles competition with an 8-4 victory in the top slot against Yuval Goodman and Nika Mori.

- Xiao started off singles competition with a win over Borun 6-0, 6-1 in No. 1 singles. Marathe followed in No. 2 singles, beating Goodman 6-2, 6-3. Li defeated Fletcher King 6-2, 6-2 in the No. 4 position followed by Choudhary 6-1, 6-4 win over Mori. Gallagher ended the singles competition with a gritty win in No. 5 singles dropping the opening set 4-6 and winning the next two 4-6, 7-6, and 10-8 against Lundberg.

HOW IT HAPPENED vs COAST GUARD

- Coast Guard took a win in No. 1 doubles, but MIT won the rest of double matches 8-3. In the No. 3 slot Li and Xiao kicked off the day victorious against Brendan Love and Logan De Los Santos and in the No. 2 spot Choudhary and Marathe ended doubles competition defeating Sean Dreher and Benjamin Bonetto.

- MIT won four out of six singles matches as Coast Guard picked up a win in No. 2 and No. 4 singles. Gallagher kicked things off with a 6-2, 6-1 win against Love in six doubles, as Choudhary followed in five doubles with a 6-3, 6-3 win over De Los Santos.

- Xiao defeated Dreher in three singles, 6-1, 6-1 while senior
Kailas Kahler (Pawtucket, R.I.) secured the last point for the Engineers with a 6-3, 6-4 in the top slot against Myles Decoste.
