CAMBRIDGE, Mass. -- The MIT men's heavyweight crew team opened the 2025-26 season on Saturday, finishing second overall at the Head of the Kevin, hosted by Riverside Boat Club.
The 1V finished second and the 2V was sixth of the 130 entries that included men's and women's eights, fours, collegiate and club rowers. MIT's two entries are completing preparations for next weekend's Head Of The Charles Regatta, where the Engineers will look to build on the team's runner-up performance in 2024.

RACE BY RACE:
- Only Tufts 1V posted a faster time on Saturday as MIT completed the Charles River course in 14:39.8. Tufts had a time of just over one second faster at 14:38.4. MIT put was one second ahead of the third place eight from the host Riverside Boat Club.
- The 2V followed with a time of 15:41.1, finishing between a pair of entries from Riverside Boat Club.
