CAMBRIDGE, Mass. -- The MIT men's heavyweight crew team competed in the Men's Collegiate Eights on Sunday at the 2025 Head Of The Charles Regatta. The Engineers had a pair of entries, finishing in 21st and 32nd place overall. 

THE BASICS:

• Men's Collegiate Eights: 21st and 32nd of 42 

RACE BY RACE:

• Racing with Bow #2 following the program's runner-up performance in 2024, MIT's "A" entry posted a time of 15:19.995 to take 21st overall. The Engineers finished behind Notre Dame's "A' boat (15:17.203) and ahead of the "A" entry from Lehigh (15:21.017). 
• MIT was among the top five boats in the field, leading past Riverside and fifth at Weld, until a tangle with La Salle at the Eliot Bridge forced the Engineers to stop and wait as La Salle's crew had to stop and collect itself before it was able to move under the bridge.
• The MIT "B" boat finished the Charles River course with the 32nd best time (15:44.212), trailing Hamilton's "A" entry (15:42.644) while finishing well ahead of the time posted by the top boat from Middlebury College (15:49.948).
