WORCESTER, Mass. -- The MIT men's heavyweight crew team closed out the fall season with a silver medal performance on Saturday morning at the Wormtown Chase Regatta on Lake Quinsigamond.  

The Engineers first varsity (1V) boat finished second to Holy Cross while MIT's second varsity (2V) crew was sixth overall and third among 2V boats in the field.  

THE BASICS:

• Men's Collegiate 8+: 2nd, 6th of 24 

RACE BY RACE:

• Men's Collegiate 8+: The MIT 1V finished 2nd of 24 teams with a time of 15:05.3 to win silver. Holy Cross paced the field with a time of 14:53.8 while MIT's effort helped the Engineers edge third place Wesleyan's (CT) time of 15:05.5. The result was a strong rebound for the Engineers after a collision at last week's Head Of The Charles derailed what was a very strong start for MIT on the Charles. The MIT 2V clocked in at 15.57.8, third among second varsity boats, trailing Wesleyan's B boat (15:43.4) and finishing ahead of seventh place WPI (15:58.3).
