GENEVA, Ohio – The MIT women's track and field team earned nine All-America honors across six events, including the program's first relay national championship in the 4x400m, to win the 2025 NCAA Division III Outdoor Track and Field National Championship on Saturday at the SPIRE Institute's Outdoor Track & Field facility. The title was MIT's first NCAA women's outdoor track and field national championship.
With the victory, MIT completed a sweep of the 2024-25 NCAA Division III women's cross country, indoor track and field and outdoor track and field titles – becoming the first women's program to sweep all three in the same year.

HOW IT HAPPENED - Field Events:
- Hammer: Senior Alexis Boykin (Clayton, Ohio) earned her third All-America honor in three events at the championships with a third-place finish with a throw of 58.79m (192' 10").
- Triple Jump: Junior Nony Otu Ugwu (Katy, Texas) took 10th with a jump of 11.91m (39'1") on her final attempt of prelims. Otu Ugwu did not advance to the final.
HOW IT HAPPENED - Track Events:
- 1500m (Final) Grad student Gillian Roeder (Delmar, N.Y.) and senior Christina Crow (Mercer Island, Wash.) picked up seven big points in the 1500m final. Roeder was fifth in 4:27.76 and Crow was one spot back, finishing sixth in 4:28.81.
- 400m (Final): Senior Marina Miller (Bel Air, Md.) followed and picked up six more points while earning the first of two All-America honors on the day with a third-place finish and a PR of 54.32 in the 400m.
- 5000m (Final): Junior Rujuta Sane (Chandler, Ariz.), Roeder and junior Kate Sanderson (West Hartford, Conn.) finished 13th, 14th, and 16th, respectively, in the 5K. Sane had a time of 16:51.45, with Roeder finishing in 16:54.07 and Sanderson clocking in at 17:00.55.
- 4x400m Relay: With MIT leading second place Washington U. by seven points heading into the final event, MIT's 4x4 relay team of senior Olivia Dias (East Taunton, Mass.), junior Shreya Kalyan (Troy, Mich.) junior Krystal Montgomery (San Jose, Calif.) and Miller left no doubt, securing the team championship with a national title of their own, as Miller moved from third to first over the final 50m to win an electric final race.
INSIDE THE NUMBERS:
- Boykin now has 16 All-American honors to her name, including three in the hammer.
- Roeder was also a first team All-America in the 1500m in 2023 after finishing third. She is now a first time All-American in the 5000m as well.
- Crow earned her first outdoor track and field All-America honor after earning two in cross country and two at the 2025 indoor championships.
- Miller received her fourth All-America honor in the 400, she has 10 overall including the 4x400m title.
- Nony Otu Ugwu is now a four-time second team All-American in the triple jump.
- Sanderson earned 5000m All-America honors for the first time at the outdoor championship, she was second team All-America at the 2024 indoor championships. She now has eighth career All-America awards, six on the track and two in cross country.
- Sane is a two-time All-American in the 5000m this year, earning the honor at both the indoor and outdoor national championships. She was a first team All-American on the indoor track.
