Caspar Lightner Earns NWPC Rookie of the Week Honors

CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – Caspar Lightner of the MIT water polo team has been named the Northeast Water Polo Conference (NWPC) Rookie of the Week for the week ending September 1. Additionally, he was named to the Honor Roll for Player of the Week. 

Lightner scored 13 goals in four games, including six goals in the Engineers comeback victory over Bucknell. He also had hat tricks against Wagner and Gannon and had a goal and steal against No. 3 Fordham. He finished the Bruno Classic with six steals, three ejections earned, and went 5-7 on sprints.
