Women's Track and Field Runs at John Thomas Terrier Classic

BOSTON, Mass. — Shreya Kalyan finished ninth with a PR of 57.71 in the open 400m to lead the MIT women's track and field team on Friday at the John Thomas Terrier Classic at the Boston University Track and Tennis Center.

TOP PERFORMERS:

400m (Open): Shreya Kalyan finished ninth with a PR of 57.71. Madeline Hon was 32nd in 59.47 and Nandini Warrier was 52nd in 1:00.55.
800m (Open): Krystal Montgomery was 33rd in 2:14.36, while Erin Hovendon took 84th in 2:21.01, and Courtney McCracken was 113th in 2:25.18.
200m (Open): JoJo Miller claimed 49th in 26.15, with Neva Miller finishing 104th in 27.71.
4x400m Relay: JoJo Miller, Kalyan, Montgomery and Nandini Warrier combined to finish 14th in 3:56.19.
Mile (Open): Liv Girand finished inside the top 50 in the Division I heavy field with a PR of 4:58.40. Jessica Meza added a 67th place finish with a PR of 5:02.89, while Jordan Lacsamana was 75th in 5:05.32 and Heather Jensen also finished inside the top 100 in 94th (5:08.59).
3000m (Open): Rujuta Sane finished 35th in a strong field of mostly Division I competitors with a PR of 9:36.65. Lexi Fernandez recorded a PR in 53rd (9:45.22), while Sophie Cheung added a 111th place finish (10:26.09) and Ava Hartman was 130th (10:35.35).

INSIDE THE NUMBERS - National Indoor Qualifying List:

Kalyan moved from ninth to seventh all-time on MIT's indoor 400m list with her performance. She is now 25th nationally in the event.
Montgomery continues to cruise, moving to 11th in the 800m with her performance.
Girand moved into the top 10 in program history with her effort in the mile. She is 17th nationally. Meza also joined the national top 50 at 49th overall, giving MIT three in the top 50 as Kate Sanderson is currently 35th thanks to her time at last week's Gordon Kelly Invitational.
Sane and Levi Fernandez are both now ranked in the top ten in the 3000m, Sane is third and Fernandez is ninth.
Miller, Kalyan, Montgomery and Warrier are now 18th in the 4x4 relay.
