MARLBOROUGH, Mass. – MIT men's cross country junior Renne Cooper has been named the NEWMAC Men's Cross Country Runner of the Week for the week ending October 4, 2026. The award is the first of the season for Cooper and the third of his career.

Cooper finished in 24th place to lead the No. 21 nationally-ranked Engineers to seventh-place at the Running of the Cows Pre-Nationals 8k Championship race in Northfield, Minnesota. Cooper ran a time of 25:03.7 against a loaded field that included 17 ranked teams.

MIT will continue the season on Saturday, October 17 at the Connecticut College Invitational.
