SPRINGFIELD, Mass. — The No. 4 MIT women's track and field team collected 16 top 10 marks across seven events on Saturday at the Springfield College Triangle Classic. Hailey Surace captured the pole vault, Rachel Chen won the long jump, and Lauren Chi took the triple jump title while Lilia Ould-Hammou was the runner-up in both the shot and the weight throw.

- High Jump: Katie Kempff and Paige Dzenutis each finished in the top five, as Kempff put down an NED3 qualifying mark of 1.58m (5' 2.25") to take third place and Dzenutis was fifth, clearing 1.53m (5' 0.25").
- Pole Vault: MIT had five of the top seven competitors, another dominant display for the top ranked squad. Surace won the event, clearing 3.95m (12' 11.5"). Katelyn Howard was the runner-up, clearing 3.85m (12' 7.5") and Elise Doyle was third with a height of 3.75m (12' 3.5"). Tessa Baker added a fourth-place finish, clearing 3.55m (11' 7.75") while Sophie Bergkvist was seventh with a height of 2.75m (9' 0.25").
- Long Jump: First year Rachel Chen won with a PR of 5.17m (16' 11.5") on her third attempt. Kempff was fifth (5.07m) and Dzenutis was ninth (4.90m).
- Triple Jump: Rookie Lauren Chi hit a PR of 10.86m (35' 7.75") on her first attempt to win the event.
- Shot Put: Ould-Hammou and Lily Siegelman each registered automatic NED3 qualifying marks, finishing second and fourth respectively. Ould-Hammou had a PR of 11.99m (39' 4") on her second attempt and Siegelman had a toss of 11.84m (38' 10.25") on her fifth attempt. Olivia Carpenter was 8th with a mark of 10.50m.
- Weight Throw: Ould-Hammou was the only MIT competitor in the weight throw and she represented the Engineers proudly, finishing as the runner-up with a toss of 16.06m (52'8.25") on her second attempt.
INSIDE THE NUMBERS:
- Grant has established PRs in the 60m, 200m, and 60H in three consecutive weeks. She is now 6th in the region in the 60H.
- Doyle is on the cusp of NCAA qualifying spot. She moved up to 26th after clearing 3.75m. Surace, Howard, Doyle and Baker are first, second, fourth and fifth in the region, respectively.
- Chen is now 25th in the region in the long jump while Chi is 14th regionally in the triple jump.
- Ould-Hammou moved to 8th in the shot put with he performance. Carpenter is now 8th in the region.
