PHILADELPHIA, Pa. – The top-ranked and No. 13 nationally ranked MIT squash defeated eighth seed and No. 20 nationally ranked Rochester 8-1 in the quarterfinal round of the College Squash Association (CSA) Divisional Championship, Hoehn Cup, which is being held at the Arlen Specter US Squash Center in Philadelphia.

• Records: MIT 15-5 Overall, Rochester 6-7 Overall 

HOW IT HAPPENED: 

• Rishabh Sharma got MIT on the board with a 3-0 (11-9, 11-8, 11-9) win in the fifth slot over Arjith Mathew while Ethan Chan followed with a 3-1 win in No. 2 over Dhirren Rajarathinam. 
• Sean-Winston Luo grabbed a 3-1 win in the eighth ladder over Preston Wu to make it 3-0 MIT, and Mero Elmarassy made it a 4-0 lead with an 18-16, 6-11, 11-6, 11-8 victory over Kareem Azzam in the fourth ladder. 
• John Gunton pulled out a tough five-set win over Thomas Valderrama in position three, 11-8, 11-7, 5-11, 10-12, 11-8. 
• Isaac Torchinsky-Field and Mitav Nayak captured 3-0 victories in the No. 6 and No. 9 positions. 
• Zachary Starr earned a sweep in ladder seven over Vandrick Inman-Benavente, 11-6, 12-10, 11-5. 
• Rochester got on the board in the last match as Gilberto Noe Aceves Moreno took a 3-1 win in No. 1 over Hyun Su Price.
