BIRMINGHAM, Ala. -- Madeline Hon, Shreya Kalyan, Nandini Warrier, and Krystal Montgomery earned All-America honors with a program record time in the 4 x 400m as the MIT women's track and field team finished in 8th nationally in the team standings at the 2026 NCAA Division III Indoor Track and Field Championships on Saturday at the Birmingham CrossPlex.
THE BASICS:
TOP PERFORMERS - Track Events:
- 3,000m: Kate Sanderson and Rujuta Sane each earned All-America second team honors, finishing 12th and 15th respectively. Sanderson claimed 12th in 9:45.36 with Sane, the national champion in yesterday's 5000m, finishing in 9:50.98 to take 15th place. Sanderson was running in fourth through the 1800m mark but dropped back over the second half of the race.
- 4 x 400m Relay: Hon, Kalyan, Warrier, and Montgomery combined for an MIT program records time of 3:47.26 to claim All-America honors with a fifth-place finish. The Engineers were second through the 800m mark but eventually finished fifth in a blistering field that saw Wash U. finish with a meet and Division 3 record time of 3:44.54.

INSIDE THE NUMBERS:
- MIT concluded the meet with four points in the 4 x 400m Relay.
- Sane's 5,000m finish was her first individual national title and second career All-America honor in the indoor 5,000m.
- Sanderson is now a four-time indoor All-American, she was also a second team All-American in the 5,000m in 2023-24.
