Raleigh, N.C. — The MIT women's track and field team opened the outdoor season by competing at the Raleigh Relays hosted by NC State University, Thursday through Saturday at the Paul Derr Track & Field Facility. Overall, the Engineers had eight student-athletes earn top 50 national marks at the meet.

TOP PERFORMERS - Track Events:
- 100m: Paige Dzenutis clocked a personal record (PR) of 12.92 to finish 118th.
- 200m: Shreya Kalyan and Madeline Hon each tallied New England Division III (NEDIII) qualifying times, as Kalyan was 52nd with a PR of 24.92 and Hon was 140th with a PR of 26.15.
- 400m: The duo of Kalyan and Hon also registered NEDIII qualifying times in the 400, as Kalyan claimed 51st (56.57) and Hon was 104th (58.59).
- 100m Hurdles: Jadyn Grant established a PR with a time of 15.90, good for 83rd overall and an NEDIII qualifying time.
TOP PERFORMERS - Field Events:
- High Jump: Amalia Christina Toutziaridi was 39th, clearing 1.62m (5' 3.75") on her second attempt at the height to earn and NEDIII qualifying mark.
- Discus: Macy Brennan delivered an NEDIII qualifying throw on her second attempt with a distance of 37.99m (124'8"). Brennan was 41st in the discus.
- Hammer: Brennan also had an NEDIII mark in the hammer, where he effort of 46.88m (153'10") on her second attempt earned her a 37th place finish.
- Javelin: Elaine Wang took 11th overall with a PR on first throw 43.76m while Olivia Carpenter was 27th with a mark of 36.32m (119'2"). Both efforts were NEDIII qualifiers.
INSIDE THE NUMBERS:
- Kalyan, in both the 200m and the 400m, and Wang in the javelin each rank inside the top ten nationally in their events.
- Toutziaridi is 12th nationally in the high jump.
- Brennan in both the discus (43rd) and the hammer (33rd) also ranks in the top 50 nationally.
