MARLBOROUGH, Mass. -- MIT women's track and field senior
Krystal Montgomery has been named the NEWMAC Women's Track Athlete of the Week for the week ending April 12, 2026. The honor is the second of Montgomery's career and the first of this season.
The San Jose, Calif. native ran a national top ten time in the 800m on Friday night at the Friar Invitational in Providence. Montgomery finished fourth behind a pair of Providence runners and a competitor from Harvard in 2:10.67 in the invitational 800m. All four of the fastest runners were in the second of the two heats, as Montgomery was the fastest Division III runner in the field.
Montgomery and the No. 11 MIT women's track and field team are preparing to host the Sean Collier Invitational at the Sherie and Don (1961) Morrison Track. The meet begins on Friday evening, April 17 and continues all day Saturday, April 18.
