No. 20 Women’s Track and Field Hosts Sean Collier Invitational

CAMBRIDGE, Mass. — The No. 20 MIT women's track and field team recorded multiple season-best marks as the Engineers hosted the Sean Collier Invitational on Saturday at the Sherie and Don (1961) Morrison Track at Steinbrenner Stadium. 

THE BASICS:  

  • No Team Score 

TOP PERFORMERS – Track Events 

  • 100 Meters: JoJo Miller placed third overall with a time of 12.40, meeting the DIII New England standard, while Paige Dzenutis finished 10th in 12.89, also qualifying. 
  • 200 Meters: JoJo Miller earned a runner-up finish, clocking 25.33, and Maddy Hon followed closely in third at 25.72, as both met the DIII New England standard. Neva Miller added a 10th-place finish in 26.86, also qualifying. 
  • 400 Meters: Shreya Kalyan captured first place with a winning time of 55.86, reaching the DIII New England standard. 
  • 800 Meters: Krystal Montgomery won the elite section in 2:09.90, while Erin Hovendon placed sixth in 2:17.88, as both met the DIII New England standard. In the open sections, Jessica Meza won her heat in 2:18.74, and Megan Diulus placed third at 2:22.46, with both qualifying. 
  • 1500 Meters: Sarah Hopp was seventh in 4:59.10. 
  • 100 Hurdles: Jadyn Grant placed sixth in 15.34, while Rachel Chen finished 14th at 16.34, as both met the DIII New England standard. 
  • 4x400 Relay: The MIT quartet of Maddy Hon, Erin Hovendon, Krystal Montgomery, and Shreya Kalyan captured first place with a time of 3:53.02. 

TOP PERFORMERS – Field Events 

  • High Jump: Amalia Toutziaridi won the event, clearing 1.63 meters (5'4.25"), a DIII New England mark, while Paige Dzenutis finished fifth at 1.58 meters, also qualifying. 
  • Pole Vault: Hailey Surace captured first place, clearing 3.92 meters (12'10.25"), while Katelyn Howard (3.81m) and Elise Doyle (3.76m) also posted DIII New England–qualifying marks. 
  • Long Jump: Paige Dzenutis placed second with a leap of 5.45 meters (17'10.75"), while Katherine Kempff finished fifth at 5.35 meters, and Rachel Chen placed 10th with 5.16 meters, as all three reached the New England standard. 
  • Triple Jump: Katherine Kempff earned third place with a jump of 11.01 meters (36'1.5"), meeting the DIII New England qualifying mark. 
  • Shot Put: Lily Siegelman led MIT with a fourth-place finish and a throw of 11.11 meters (36'5.5"), a DIII New England mark. 
  • Discus: Macy Brennan placed second with a best throw of 39.97 meters (131'2"), while Lily Siegelman (36.56m) and Olivia Carpenter (36.27m) also recorded DIII New England–qualifying performances. 
  • Hammer Throw: Lilia Ould-Hammou finished second with a throw of 49.33 meters (161'10"), followed by Macy Brennan in third at 48.76 meters and Lily Siegelman in fifth at 46.18 meters, as all three qualified for DIII New Englands. 
  • Javelin: Elaine Wang placed second with a mark of 37.42 meters (122'9"), while Olivia Carpenter (37.20m), Alexa Bohanon (36.71m), and Amelia Bronhard-Yates (33.14m) all reached the DIII New England standard. 

INSIDE THE NUMBERS: 

  • Kalyan moved to 15th nationally in the 400m with her best time of the season.  
  • Montgomery is now 6th nationally in the 800m. 
  • The MIT 4 x 400m relay ran the 25th best time in the nation.  
  • Toutziaridi moved to the NCAA bubble, as her mark is 26th in the high jump.  
  • Surace, Howard, Doyle each posted season-best marks, with Surace moving inside the top ten and all three inside the top 22. 
  • Ould-Hammou and Brennan are now inside the top 50 in the hammer.  

NEXT UP: 

  • The Engineers will now prepare for the 2026 NEWMAC Championships, April 24-25, hosted by the U.S. Coast Guard Academy.
