NEW LONDON, Conn. — The No. 11 MIT women's track and field team claimed its fifth straight and 17th overall NEWMAC Championship on Saturday at the 2026 NEWMAC Women's Track and Field Championships, hosted by the U.S. Coast Guard Academy. MIT claimed 13 All-Conference honors on the final day of the championship to clinch the title by a dominant 154.5-point margin.

TOP PERFORMERS - Track Events:
- 100m: Jojo Miller finished fifth in 12.35 seconds.
- 100m Hurdles: Jadyn Grant was the runner-up, earning All-Conference second team laurels in 15.01.
- 200m: Champion: Shreya Kalyan and JoJo Miller swept the All-Conference spots, with Kalyan finishing in 24.80, just ahead of Miller in 25.40.
- 400m: NEWMAC Champion Maddy Hon and runner-up Krystal Montgomery swept the top two spots. Hon won the title in 57.08, just tenths of a second ahead of Montgomery in 57.16.
- 800m: Jessica Meza won the NEWMAC championship in 2:16.69, earning All-Conference first team honors.
- 1500m: Lexi Fernandez was first in 4:36.54 to earn All-Conference first team recognition.
- 3000m Steeplechase: Liv Girand finished as the runner-up in 11:08.40 to earn All-Conference second team honors.
- 5000m: Kate Sanderson won the title in 17:26.30, while Lexi Fernandez finished in 17:33.86, as MIT swept All-Conference recognition.
- 4x100m Relay: Grant, Kalyan, Paige Dzenutis, and JoJo Miller finished on the podium, earning bronze in 48,68.
- 4x400m Relay: MIT closed out the meet with a facility record in the 4x100, as Hon, Kalyan, Nandini Warrier and Montgomery won in 3:50.79 by nearly ten seconds over Coast Guard.
TOP PERFORMERS - Field Events:
- Discus: Macy Brennan's throw of 42.04m (137' 11") earned the NEWMAC title, while Lilia Ould-Hammou was the runner-up with an effort of 41.46m (135') as the pair swept All-Conference honors.
- High Jump: Amalia Christina Toutziaridi was third, earning a spot on the podium with a jump of 1.61m (5'3.25").
- Shot Put: Ould-Hammou finished sixth with a throw of 10.77m (35'4").
- Triple Jump: Katie Kempff finished one spot off the podium with a jump of 11.34m (37'2.50").

Three meet records were broken, with Michaina Loriston of Wheaton setting a new standard in the 100 meters, Ella Whinney of Wellesley marking a new conference best in the steeplechase, and Tara Jessen of Coast Guard smashing her own heptathlon record.
