LOUISVILLE, K.Y. – The MIT softball team placed four student-athletes on the National Fastpitch Coaches Association (NFCA) All-Region Team. The Engineers had two First Team All-Region athletes in first-years Lauren Sundquist and Holland Poe, while sophomore Delaney Benevides and senior Olivia Scarpaci were named to the third team.
Holland Poe
- Third on the team with a .408 batting average
- Second on the team with 41 RBI
- Led the team with five doubles
- Had 19 multi-hit games
Lauren Sundquist
- Finished fourth on a team with a .385 batting average
- Second on the team with 15 doubles
- Stole 16 bases
- Finished the year with a 10-game on base streak
Delaney Benevides
- Second All-Region Honor
- Led the team with an .418 batting average
- Stole 24 bases
- Finished third on the team with 61 hits
Olivia Scarpaci
- Second All-Region Honor
- Had 11 doubles and two homers
- Had 10 multi-hit games
- Threw out eight baserunners
All honorees move forward to be considered for selection for the three NFCA Division III All-America squads, which will be announced May 27 on NFCA.org and the Association's social media accounts.
