During Oliver-Milchman’s tenure in Cambridge, the Cardinal and Gray were Gold medalists at the Dad Vail Regatta in the 2013 Lightweight 4+ and the 2014, 2022, and 2023 Lightweight 8+ competitions. The 2015 season saw MIT reach No. 3 in the national rankings, the highest placement under his tutelage. The Engineers also advanced to the Grand Finals at the 2015 EARC Sprints for the second year in a row, marking their first back-to-back appearances since 1997.

A 2004 graduate of the University of Virginia, Oliver-Milchman was a team captain and three-year first boat rower for the Cavaliers. After college, he spent one season coaching prep school boys at the Bryanston School in Dorset, England. Oliver returned to his alma mater as the men’s freshman coach for one year before being promoted to the men’s crew head coach position. During his three-year tenure, Oliver-Milchman’s crews finished as high as 15th nationally among Division I schools.
