Kelsey O’Neill is the Head Diving Coach for MIT Men’s & Women’s Swimming & Diving, began her tenure in the fall of 2022. O'Neill assists the in divers improving their skills and strategies to lead them to excel in their student-athlete experience. In her first season as the Head Diving Coach, seven divers qualified for NCAA Diving Regionals and four divers went on to qualify for the 2023 NCAA Swimming and Diving Championships. All four divers earned  second-team All-American Honors. Sophomore diver David Benko, also broke the school record on 1M (11-Dives) with a score of 559.95. O'Neill offers a wide range of support for our student-athletes at MIT by creating season team diving plans, dryland conditioning, wellness discussions and individual coaching on and off the boards. 
 
Prior to coaching diving at MIT, she spent most of her life dedicated to sports and exercise in being a Division I student-athlete. She also worked in fitness and health for eight years as a group-fitness instructor, personal trainer, peer and corporate-wellness educator, and workshop leader. 

O'Neill started her coaching path in 2007 to help former recreational teammates of hers. She then assisted club-team athletes to gain new perspectives and techniques with the sometimes overwhelming task of building new habits to achieve more confidence, control, and consistency in the sport.
