Biography

Before MIT:
  • Attended Cambridge Rindge and Latin School graduated in 2026 
  • Ran cross country freshman year before transitioning to sailing sophomore year
Personal:
  • Born in Oakland, California
  • Moved to Cambridge during the pandemic, where I started sailing to take a break from the highly competitive and stressful cross country season. In the end, I liked it so much that I switched to it full time. In fact, it contributed to my decision to pursue ocean engineering at MIT.
Why MIT:
  • "From watches to bicycles to ships, I love learning how machines work. Connecting all of my passions is an interest in the technical. I love understanding the mechanics that make a sport like sailing work. I love it when a seemingly arbitrary decision in logistics, design, or manufacturing was actually made for a very specific reason. MIT is a great place to pursue those passions."
