Ned Farrington joins the MIT cross country coaching staff as an assistant coach for the 2025 season.

A three-year NCAA Division III Cross Country Championship competitor as a student-athlete at Bates, Farrington earned CSC Academic All-District accolades as a senior after finishing a career-best 31st at the NCAA Championships. He holds the distinction of being the first Bates men's cross country and track and field athlete to earn All-America honors during the cross country, indoor and outdoor track and field seasons in the same academic year, having earned the honor with a 31st place at cross country nationals, a fourth-place finish in the DMR at indoor nationals and a fifth place finish in the 1500m at outdoor nationals.

He earned his degree from Bates in environmental studies and history before going on to run as a graduate student at the University of Maine.
