Favorite Sports Memory:
- My favorite sports memory is from the end-of-year celebration we had at my fencing club at home. At the celebration, we had performances from the students and exhibition matches from fencers in each weapon. One year, I was chosen to do one of these exhibition matches with my best friend. The energy was high and everyone in the club was watching. It was super fun being surrounded by my friends and having people cheer us both on. It was very low-stakes, but I was pumped up by the people around me. When a really nice touch was scored, everyone in the club would start screaming and even though I was focused on winning, I couldn't help but laugh at the antics.
Favorite Moment as an MIT Student-Athlete:
- My favorite moment with the fencing team was definitely at our Duke meet in February 2020. We were all watching one of our fencers in the last match of the meet and cheered loudly for every point. The score was close, but our fencer ended up losing that match. Even though we didn't win, the entire team rushed onto the strip to surround them in celebration. We had a great time, even in defeat, and seemed happier than the team that won. I love the team because we will always support and celebrate each other.
