Biography

AS A FRESHMAN IN 2007-08: Provided importantbackstroke support to the Tech line-up. At NEWMACs, scored aTop-8th finish in the 200 Back (2:19.53). Also scored individualpoints for the Engineers with an 11th-place finish in the 100 Back.A critical member of four of Tech's "B" relays. Led off the 200Medley Relay, which placed 12th, and the 400 Medley Relay, 200 FreeRelay, and 400 Free Relay, which all placed 11th, ahead of allother "B" relays. Placed 18th in the 50 Free. Also a member ofMIT's varsity soccer team, earning Rookie of the Year honors.

HIGH SCHOOL: A two-sport athlete (swimming andsoccer) for Elizabethtown Area High School...swam under CoachAngela Warner...competed in district finals all four years...wastwice named team Highest Point Scorer and Big "E" Booster Club MostOutstanding Athlete...a co-captain as a senior.

CLUB: Elizabethtown Aquatic Club (EAC), coachedby Bryan Waldron and Ken Chandler (2004-2007), and Mike Guinivan(1998-2004); Willowood Swim Team (1998-2007). Made Junior Olympiccuts in 7 events

PERSONAL: Born March 31, 1989 to David andRenee Hernley...has two brothers--Paul, a Chemical Engineer andwater polo player at Clemson University, and John...father was aDivision I wrester for Franklin & Marshall College...lists herproudest collegiate moment as making the championship finals atNEWMACs in the 200 Back...A Course 2 (Mechanical Engineering)Major.
