Liam Ackerman was named Assistant Track & Field Coach for Pole Vault in August 2024. A former team captain for the Engineers, Ackerman returned to campus after finishing his career as a four-time NCAA national qualifier and a two-time NCAA All-American in the Pole Vault. 

Ackerman earned All-America honors in both indoor and outdoor Pole Vault as a sophomore before losing his junior and senior seasons to the COVID-19 pandemic. He returned as a graduate student in 2021-22, earning USTFCCCA All-Region honors in both indoor and outdoor pole vault will also earning USTFCCCA and NEWMAC All-Academic honors. Overall, he recorded seven victories in the 16 meets he competed in 2021-22, including a first place finish at the New England Division III Indoor Championship.

Ackerman graduated from MIT with a Bachelors of Science in Computer Science and Electrical Engineering in 2021 before earning a Masters of Engineering in 2022. He is currently a Software Engineer for Google.
