Lauren Presant enters her second season as an assistant coachfor the MIT water polo program. The leading goal scorer in BrownUniversity women’s water polo history, a 2010 HonorableMention All-American and an NCAA Woman of the Year nominee thatsame year, Presant brings over 10 years of playing experienceto the Engineers' program.

This past season, Presant competed in the 19th World MaccabiGames in Israel, where she helped the U.S. bring home the gold,scoring four goals in the championship game.

Prior to MIT, Presant spent time playing internationalprofessional water polo in New Zealand, the Netherlands, andFrance. One of the 2012 top 10 goal scorers in New Zealand, Presanthelped lead the Maranui Mud Crabs to a second place finish in theNZ National League. Additionally, she helped coach the youth of theMaranui Water Polo Club and was involved in medical research at theUniversity of Otago Wellington. In the Netherlands, Presant helpedthe team to a seventh place finish and was involved inHIV/AIDS Research at the University Medical Centre Utrecht,Netherlands. 

She began her water polo career in Poway California at PowayHigh School and played for the San Diego Shores Water Polo on teamsthat finished seventh in 2005 and second in 2006 atJunior Olympics. She began her coaching experience in 2008with the youth of the Brown University Rhode Island Water PoloClub.

Presant graduated from Brown with a degree in human biology:human health and disease. She currently works for CarteraCommerce as a Marketing Associate.
