Matt Piantedosi enters his eighth year at MIT in 2022-23, following a five-year tenure as part of fellow NEWMAC member Babson College’s Sports Medicine staff.

With the Engineers, Piantedosi serves as the primary athletic trainer for the men's basketball, softball, and women's tennis teams. He also co-coordinates care for the football, men’s and women’s cross country, and men's and women's swimming and diving teams. Piantedosi is also an approved preceptor for Boston University’s athletic training education program.

Prior to joining the Babson Sports Medicine staff, Piantedosi was a resident-assistant athletic trainer at Boston College from 2007-10 primarily working with the football and the men’s and women’s swimming and diving teams. While at BC, he received his Master's of Science degree in administration through the Father Woods College of Advancing Studies.

Piantedosi is a 2007 graduate of Springfield College with a Bachelor of Science degree in athletic training. He is a certified athletic trainer, licensed in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts, and has been a member of the National Athletic Trainers’ Association since 2007.
