Missy Kubik enters her second year as the special assistant to the director of athletics/DAPER department head in 2023-24. Kubik came to MIT from the New England Women’s and Men’s Athletic Conference (NEWMAC), where she served as the coordinator of sports administration and communications from 2018-2022. 

In her role with the NEWMAC, she assisted on all conference operations with emphasis on championship administration, communications, compliance and branding. Kubik was also the conference liaison for the Compliance Committee, the Sports Information Directors Committee and the Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC). In addition, she created the NEWMAC strategic plan for year programming initiatives and executed the league’s communications and branding strategy, including a complete rebrand of its online presence.

Kubik has also worked as a game day sales and service coordinator for the New England Revolution since August 2021, where she assisted in game day operations and executing special events. She also worked as the assistant sports information director at Keene State College from 2016-2018 after beginning her career in athletics as the assistant to the director of athletics at Springfield College from 2015-2016.
 
A 2015 graduate of Smith College, Kubik graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in neuroscience. At Smith, she was the captain of the crew team and was a NEWMAC Second Team All-Conference performer. In addition, she was President of the SAAC and a member of the Dean’s List. Kubik also earned her Master of Science in sport management from the Isenberg School of Management at the University of Massachusetts, Amherst in 2020.
